Becky Barsi

Becky Barsi (b. 1985) is a multimedia artist whose background is as varied as the artwork she creates. Coming from a family of artists and creatives, she approaches creation with experimentation and play. Most recently, Becky has been painting with a range of media with a focus on floral abstraction and the landscape. Earlier work by the artist has explored themes of body image, abstraction, color, and texture, and have been presented through a variety of media including photography, installation, assemblage, resin, performance, and gunpowder.

Barsi completed her M.F.A at the Massachusetts College of Art and Design in the summer of 2017. She holds a B.S. in Visual Arts Education from SUNY New Paltz and an A.A.S from SUNY Cobleskill. Her work has been exhibited at a range of galleries throughout New England. She is affiliated with the Women’s Caucus of Art, NH State Council for the Arts, National Art Education Association, the Art Association of New England Preparatory Schools, and is on the Executive Board of the NH Scholastic Art Awards. A member of the NH Art Education Association, she was honored as the 2022 NH Art Educator of the Year. Becky is a teacher of Visual Arts at the Derryfield School in Manchester, New Hampshire, where she teaches visual arts classes. She maintains a studio space in Exeter, NH, and is the owner of Busy Bee 603 Photography. Becky lives in the woods with her husband, Chris, and their pets.

Becky’s work was featured in ‘Glad You Asked,’ on view March 11-26, 2023.
