Morgan Pietrorazio
Morgan Pietrorazio (b. 2003) is a surrealist painter from Middlebury, CT, currently based in New England. She received her BFA in Painting from the Massachusetts College of Art and Design in 2025, graduating with departmental honors while serving as President of the Student Government Association.
Morgan’s work often features emotionally resonant objects, gathered through thrifting, antiquing, and gifting. With a focus on color, she looks for the connection within the inanimate, sharing what she sees within, purposing and breathing new life into things that may have gone tos landfill otherwise. Over time, these objects have taken on a life of their own, as they are included in her work again and again.
Morgan’s artwork was featured in ‘Joy!,’ on view December 13-21, 2025.
“‘Red Sweet Owl’ features a red owl sugar bowl that I feel a particular sense of life from, one of many objects I have thrifted over the years to feature in my paintings. Owls have always been particularly significant to me, as my late grandfather gifted me an owl necklace when I was young. Since his passing, I have always associated owls with him and, to me, that feeling gives this painting an added sense of life and joy.
“A Formality Between Friends” continues my exploration of stuffed animals, celebrating the comfort and delight they offer me even in adulthood.”
