Tara Morin (b. 1983, Maine) is a collector, gathering and configuring shape and color. It is a practice that began in childhood, hunting for fragments, the detritus of daily life. Bits of broken glass and plastic found on sidewalks. Scraps from her mother’s woodworking bin. In adulthood, Tara has continued variations of this practice. Now working primarily in painting, drawing and sculpture, Tara produces visually complex images and objects that ask us to make sense of what is left behind.
Tara’s work was featured in ‘Despite / Transitions,’ on view May 10-June 1, 2025.
“Everything is ruin(s/ed). And still I make messes and places. DayGlo dreamscapes to live and die in. Dancing in the shadow of a cartoon cactus. Bleeding beneath a fluorescent sun.”
