Aimee Maschhoff (b. 1972, Ooltewah, TN) is a self-taught artist who lives and works in Ooltewah, TN. Although the main subject of her work is faces, she also paints “sketch-like” florals. When she is painting faces, Aimee enjoys using bold color to create interest and emotion for the viewers to connect with. This is challenging and rewarding work for her.
The florals, on the other hand, are more relaxing for her to create and for the viewer. She strive for a calming result. These two styles help to balance her art practice and allow her to experiment in different ways.
Aimee’s work was featured in ‘Presently‘ on view December 14-22, 2024.
“After first putting down a layer of multiple colors, I then paint over that under-layer and, using a silicone brush, carve into that top layer of paint to reveal the colors underneath.”
