Aaron Kane (b. 1994) was born, raised and schooled in Manchester, New Hampshire. He graduated from the New Hampshire Institute of Art in 2017 (now the Institute of Art and Design at New England College) and earned a bachelors of Fine Arts in Illustration. He now resides in Goffstown, NH and devotes his time as a full time freelance artist, while balancing a full time job. His work has been shown in galleries across the country and private collections and received the Mixed Media Award in 2017 from the Aviation Museum in Manchester, NH.
He hopes to someday have his work shown across the globe and open to everyone the interesting world of paper cutting. He wants to inspire people with his work and to show that paper is not just a surface to paint nor write on.
Aaron’s artwork was featured in ‘Haunts,’ on view October 11-26, 2025.
“What happens to a room when the lights go out? What hides inside the darkness in those empty spaces? My work focuses on the elusive shadows and shapes that hide just outside of our view. I believe there are beings that will latch on to those environments and thrive off of the dark and despair. Living amongst us in their own purgatory. Through the use of halftones, positive/negative space, and my medium of cut paper, I reveal what is hidden in those spaces. By carving away at the paper piece by piece, I can bring to light those very figures that hide within the darkness.”
Aaron’s artwork was featured in ‘All Together Now,’ on view February 11-26, 2023.
