Alisa Marie

Alisa Marie (b. 1968, Peabody, Massachusetts) comes from a long line of artists and entrepreneurs. As a child, she grew up with many forms of art and music. She resides now in Rochester, New Hampshire. She is a dedicated self-taught encaustic artist for over ten years; she brings a fresh perspective to the ancient medium. With a focus on vibrant, bold compositions, she challenges traditional boundaries and explores innovative techniques. Constantly pushing the limits of encaustic painting, Alisa experiments with unconventional materials and methods to create truly unique and thought-provoking works. She aims to connect with viewers profoundly and emotionally, leaving a lasting impact and inspiring their creativity and imagination.

Over a decade ago, Alisa discovered her passion for wax and began experimenting with melting it onto canvas. Drawing inspiration from memories, emotions, and nature, she creates captivating encaustic paintings with rich hues and expressive textures. Her artwork beautifully reflects her connection to colors and their ability to convey meaning and evoke emotions. She skillfully controls the melted wax using her technique, guiding it to blend into mesmerizing patterns. Her work has been exhibited at different galleries and businesses throughout New Hampshire. Creating paintings fills Alisa with joy and a deep sense of healing. She is a member artist of the Art Center in Dover, New Hampshire, and the New Hampshire Art Association in Portsmouth, New Hampshire.

Her studio space is at Lane House Arts Center in Hampton, New Hampshire, where she is a resident artist. Driven by her entrepreneurial spirit, Alisa Marie established her online business. She showcases her artwork through this platform and offers exclusive jewelry, footwear, home d├ęcor and apparel designs. This expansion into merchandise enables her to reach a broader audience and express her artistic vision through different avenues. Alisa Marie finds joy in cooking, writing poetry, singing, and reading, all of which contribute to her creative spirit.

Alisa’s work was featured ‘Wish List’ on view December 9-22, 2023.
