“Life’s Work” stands apart from installations that have proceeded it. Rather than a concert of different mediums, this piece relies on photography work, otherwise reserved for source material. The work takes a detached view of the relationship between creating from waste materials and the waste produced in day to day life; a seemly inescapable cycle. This inquiry into the often ignored routine of use and waste allows time to consider the endless and transient nature of the raw physical materials that accompany us through our journey from cradle to grave. In photographic form, the materials appear frozen as though in a catalog. They are simultaneously, potential commodity, memory, archive and eventual waste.”

Dave’s work was featured in â€˜Critical Mass,’ on view August 12-27, 2023.
