Kali Zaffrann
Kali Zaffrann (b. 2003, Waimanalo, HI) is an artist currently living in Keene NH, recent graduate of Reed College, where they received their Studio Art BA. Through imagemaking, they seek to interpret inner experience and question structures of external reality.
The physical world is in a state of constant decay, and we temper this fundamental chaos with patterns of order, which both define and divide societies. As a metaphor, entropy informs much of their current practice- this accumulation of disorder over time, recalling movements of warp, shift and dissolution. How does existence in a dynamic world feel, and why do we oppose ourselves to chaos, and each other as a result?
They wish to create images which allow viewers to step into these uncertainties and come away with deep reactions or questions of their own.
Kali’s artwork was featured in ‘Tout Le Monde’ on view August 9-31, 2025.
“The dissolution of power, of structures, is inevitable in a chaotic world, yet we cling to comfort and choose to maintain them. What happens when we let go, when the border between reality and abstraction begins to muddy?”
