Kendal Ames

Kendal Ames (b. 1996, Gilford, NH) is an artist creating and working in the Lakes Region of New Hampshire. Since graduating from the New Hampshire Institute of Art in 2019, she has worked from her studio in Laconia, New Hampshire. Kendal has been working on blending her love for painting with her love for found object sculpture work, constantly trying to find the perfect balance between the two mediums. Kendal’s art aspires to connect with people on a deep level. She brings in themes of community, relationships, and loneliness that may cause discomfort or self satisfaction. She is interested in creating spaces that leave the viewer with questions about themselves, and questions for others around them. By creating interest and over lap in her pieces she is able to create work that explores a lot of depth and sense of self.

Kendal’s work was featured in â€˜Group Effort,’ on view August 10-September 1, 2024.

“Combining leaving a comfortable place and feeling guilty about who you’re leaving behind.”

Kendal’s work was featured in ‘Critical Mass,’ on view August 12-27, 2023.

“Embracing taking new paths and heading towards exciting destinations.”

Kendal’s work was featured in ‘All Together Now,’ on view February 11-26, 2023.

“‘Mirrorball’ explores the desire to be closer to others by reflecting their personality back to them.”
