Kiera Reese
Kiera Reese (b. 1989) experiments with the process of photography to compare and better understand mechanical and biological vision. She earned MFA from Lesley University of Art and Design in 2015 and BFA at New Hampshire Institute of Art, magna cum laude, in 2012. Kiera’s process includes digital manipulation, inkjet printing on non-traditional substrates, such as untreated fabrics, and glass transfers, as well as incorporating the historical camera obscura and examining scanning in relation to the contact print. Kiera’s work plays with the intersection between the analog and the digital, and the physical and ephemeral.
Kiera’s work was featured in ‘All Together Now,’ on view February 11-26, 2023.
“What happens when digital information becomes physical? This work explores what is lost and gained in the translation.”
