“Small paintings are so potent! These works explore so many microcosms of fresh deliberation without the risk of fussing or overworking. In these paintings I am leaning into the way that a small work can demand clarity and hold risk, exploring the Theseus-like alchemy of idea to painting back to idea. These works keep the most explicit transformation of the process.”

Lydia’s work was featured in ‘All Together Now,’ on view February 11-26, 2023.

“‘Card’ explores a tension of ornamentation and depth.”
