Marcus Greene

Marcus Greene (b. 1954) Marcus Greene grew up in the Carolinas and has identified as an artist since at least kindergarten. After some educational detours he found classical art training at the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts, followed by an MFA from Indiana University. Marcus has taught a variety of drawing, painting, and related art practice for 35 years – in Savannah GA, St. Louis MO, and for the last 21 years in NH, including stints as Chair of Foundations, and later Chair of Fine Arts at New Hampshire Institute of Art.

Marcus’s work was featured in ‘Group Effort,’ on view August 10-September 1, 2024.

“These paintings are celebrations of a very recent visit to two European cities with cultural histories that each span millenia of light and shadow.”
