“By utilizing bold vibrant colors and fine detail, I bring to life; the “Satanimatronics”! With creating these pieces, I wanted to highlight the animatronic characters and creature effects of the early 80’s cinema, such as the works of Jim Henson, Rob Botton, and Stan Winston. Intricately designed creations that would move and come to life, making you believe such fantastical creatures could exist. I wanted to bring my own spin and depict creatures that had “devilish” details within them. Visually representing the fear some of us have about animatronics (mechanophobia). While on the outside these creatures are harmless and present no danger, within their inner workings lies something much more deep, dark, autonomous, and sinister.”

Max’s artwork was featured in ‘Presently,‘ on view December 14-22, 2024.

“A nostalgic, frightening, yet lovable, Manchester landmark that New Hampshire residents look forward to every holiday season.”

Max’s artwork was featured in ‘Group Effort,’ on view August 10-September 1, 2024.

“Bringing to life a dreamlike creature like The Frost Moose is easy. Painting in every single detail and highlighting the grace of this animal is the tough part.”
