Teddy Parades (b.1997) is an artist working out of Lawrence, MA who works in mixed media and believes in the value of seeing artwork in person. He loves anyone who spends the time out of the day to stare at some art, as he does the the same. He spends most of his time locking eyes with his pieces until something tells him to paint a line down. He is in love with faces (if you cant tell) and used to graffiti until he picked up the canvas freshman year in high school and will never put it down! He is having fun traveling, showing and selling his art and meeting people from different places and backgrounds. The people he meets always see something he painted and feel it a different way, and he enjoys seeing people light up!
“I lock myself in my room and work on stuff for months, I’m a really slow painter but every single line it thought about and every expression obsessed over for months at a time. I make stuff so that maybe one day someone feeling the same way I did (anger, angst, depression, or happiness) can connect to me and wont feel so alone. We all wanna leave / make an impact on this world and its people.”
Teddy’s work was featured in ‘Vision Quest,’ on view April 8-30, 2023.
