The Look of Freedom / The Scars Remain

All the classic signs of infidelity were beginning to appear and add up. Late nights at work. Weekend “sales retreats” for work. Mark instantly showering when he returned home from work. The faint scent of another woman’s perfume on Mark’s clothes. Mark’s lack of interest in sexual intimacy. Betty never paid the bills, and Mark always gave her a weekly “allowance” for groceries and spending money. But one night when Mark was showering, Betty rifled through Mark’s wallet and found a secret credit card. The next morning, she called the telephone number on the back of the card and requested a list of purchases, which included flowers, jewelry, get-aways, and deliveries to a Tina at an address in the city. Mark was caught. However, unknown to both Mark and Betty, Tina has paid a “murder-for-hire” to kill Betty.
