Progressive Catholic by Jen Drociak

Progressive Catholic

Mary was brought up as a good Catholic girl. She attended weekly mass, confessed her sins, and wore out her rosary beads reciting Hail Mary, Our Father, and the Act of Contrition. She was always lady like, obeyed her husband, dressed modestly, and participated in bible study groups and the PTA. However, over the years, she began to see Catholicism’s teachings as hindering the progression of women as equals. Today, she is on a mission to broaden Catholicism’s teachings to include equity for women by holding a secret alternative “bible study” at her house with the other women from her church.
