Elizabeth was also quite intelligent. She enjoyed biology in school and wanted to become a veterinarian or doctor. However, despite also being fed the narrative that those were men’s jobs, she applied for and received a scholarship to Harvard Medical School and was one of the first women admitted in 1963 after the school started accepting women into their programs. So, Elizabeth moved out of Pleasantville, but returns to visit during college breaks. Elizabeth is confident she can succeed and is feeling young and vibrant!
