One afternoon, during a playdate with the other stay-at-home mothers and their children in her Pleasantville neighborhood, Joyce realized all she could ever talk about was babies and recipes. She used to be able to talk about art, literature, and politics, believe it or not, but now only finds herself talking about the best ways to comfort fussy infants, how to deal with toddler temper tantrums, and the best recipes to feed her hungry man and growing family. She craved more.
